Einnek Monthly Six-A-Side Rule Book : Players

Introducing Players

Before the start of each EMSAS Tournament, managers need to submit a squad of players. A minimum of six players (including one goalkeeper) are needed in order to put out a valid side.

Every squad can contain a maximum of twelve players, but there is no actual requirement to have any more than the six players required to submit a valid side.

Each player must be assigned a position, nationality and aggression. Players ages will be randomly created (the maximum age being 22 years old).

Goalkeepers must be specifically nominated, but all other players are considered as out-field players, not by the normal defender, midfielder or attacker designators. [see positions]

Skill Levels

Everyone start as a skill 3 player when they are introduced in EMSAS.

During each game played the best performing player in each side will rise in skill. Unlike the senior game there is no limit to the level they can reach.

Any player can be retained for the next tournament provided they are under 23 [see Ages]. These players will see their skill levels reset before the games are played. However, any player who reached skill 6 or above will be reset to skill 4 rather than skill 3. Thus players who perform well previously have an advantage in future EMSAS games.

Players Positions

Due to the nature of six-a-side football, all outfield players are deemed multi-skilled and able to play in defence, midfield or attack during any EMSAS game.

During the course of a player's EMSAS career, the Einnek Football Association's appointed panel of experts will offer managers advise as to which position (or positions) they fell this player would best suit in the full eleven-a-side game. When promoting players to their senior sides, a manager can choose to take this advise or ignore it and go with their own instncts about any player.

Goalkeepers are defined as goalkeepers in EMSAS and can only be promoted to the senior game as goalkeepers.

Players Ages

All new players selected for EMSAS will enter the game at a randomly generated age between 16 and 22 years old. Each game week they will age by one month as in the full Einnek leagues.

Any player who has not appeared at a senior level is eligible to play in an EMSAS Tournament providing he is under 23 years old.

Once a player reaches 23 years of age, he is automatically a free-agent and managers will be able to by these players through the Einnek FA at a pre-determined transfer fee. Of course many of these players will never be deemed good enough and will vanish, never to be seen again.

Performance Ratings

In EMSAS, players' performances are not rated out of 10 as they are in the senior game. In each match a player will receive a EMSAS Performance Rating (EPR) based on various criteria;

– Goals Scored

– Assists : playing the final pass before a goal. Does not include unintentional deflections

– Pass percentage : the ratio of successful passes to unsuccessful one

– Fouls Committed : includes all free-kick offences, such as handball

– Number of times fouled

– Time on Pitch

– Time in Sin Bin

The higher a players EPR, the better he is deemed to have performed. EPR is used to calculate Man of the Match awards and distribution of skill points.

Promotions to Senior Sides

For each side entering EMSAS a manager can promote one player to a senior side they manage without using any Youth Points. This player will enter that senior squad as a skill 3 player regardless of what skill they ended the EMSAS tournament at.

However, if the EMSAS team's entry is a free entry (as past of their season's payment) then the free player promotion must go to that side.

Any other player can be promoted as a skill 3 to any senior side a manager runs. The cost is the normal 7 youth points and teams must have the points available before options to promote will be given.

Protected Contract Players

Following each EMSAS tournament, mangers must decide what to do with the players in their squad. The options are:

– Promote to Senior Side [see promotions]

– Release on a Free [see releasing]

– Retain in squad

All contracts for players who are retained in your squad are either classed as "Protected" or "Unprotected". This status needs to be considered carefully as other sides can approach you to sign unprotected players or even sign them for free with you able to do nothing about it.

Protected players are contracted to your club and cannot be approached or traded with another club.

Unprotected Contract Players

Unprotected players are vunrable to approach by other sides. Players who played in the last EMSAS Tournament with an unprotected contract can be traded to other sides in swap deals for players of equal skill. [see signing]

While an unprotected player who did not play in the last EMSAS Tournament can be signed without any discussion by any side registered to play in the next EMSAS. If you do not wish this to happen, you must promote the player to a senior side.
